MEDIAPILOT DOCS

Set up media audits, optimization, and cleanup controls.

MediaPilot runs inside Shopify Admin. Use this guide to install the app, run your first audit, review optimization recommendations, and monitor background jobs.

Install and open the app

  1. Install MediaPilot from the Shopify App Store or Partner review flow.
  2. Approve the requested Shopify permissions during OAuth installation.
  3. Open MediaPilot from Shopify Admin Apps.

Run a media audit

  1. Open the Dashboard or Audit page.
  2. Start a scan to review files, product media, themes, and content references.
  3. Review heavy files, usage checks, confidence levels, and export options.

Optimize product images

  1. Open Optimization to preview eligible heavy product images.
  2. Review WebP conversion settings before running a job.
  3. Paid conversion actions require an active plan and available quota.

Monitor jobs and rollback

  1. Use Queue to follow progress, errors, retries, and paused jobs.
  2. Use History to review completed optimization or cleanup work.
  3. Use rollback controls where MediaPilot has a stored reversible action.
  4. Original image backups are stored in Shopify Files with a MediaPilot backup prefix.
  5. Deleting those backup files can remove rollback availability for that job.
  6. After rollback, use the History cleanup action to remove backups no longer needed.

Auto WebP checks

  1. Add or update a product image in Shopify Admin.
  2. MediaPilot receives the Shopify webhook and evaluates the image.
  3. Eligible jobs appear in the queue according to your plan and quota.
